Resilient Cities 2011: Second World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change
The second World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change will focus on urban adaptation planning and practice, urban risk assessment, costs and financing of urban climate change adaptation, socio-economic and institutional dimensions of climate change adaptation, and strategy, policy integration and mainstreaming of climate change. The event is convened by ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), the City of Bonn and the World Mayors Council on Climate Change.

World Bank Writing Meeting in Marseille on Climate Change in the Arab Countries
World Bank Writing Meeting for Report on Adaptation to a Changing Climate in Arab Countries
The World Bank Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) is developing a regional Climate Change Flagship Report, "Adaptation to a Changing Climate in the Arab Countries." A writing meeting will be held to prepare the First Draft of the Report ready for formal public review. Preferences will be given to early career professionals and to engaging new contributors from the full geographic range of the Arab region.

Interesting Summit at the ILO on E-environment
E-environment Day at World Summit on Information Society Forum 2011
This Day is co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Basel Convention Secretariat, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The Day will focus on the role of information and communications technologies (ICT) for the environment, one of the action lines defined in the WSIS Geneva Plan of Action. The event will include workshops, interactive discussions, publication releases and networking sessions on issues such as energy efficiency, climate monitoring and adaptation, e-waste and the green economy transition. The event will be open to all stakeholders, including governments, private sector, civil society, academia, as well as international and regional institutions. Participation in this event is possible either on-site or remotely, presenting recent publications or displaying the most recent activities from relevant organization at the e-environment exhibition stand.
